A solo exhibition by braxton fuller

“Reflections” is my 1st solo art exhibition in 3 years. my first solo show, “Where We’ve been” was curated, marketed, & created by myself. It was in the middle of covid & it was my 1st ever art show. now, in 2024, after having multiple group shows in Kansas City & all over the world, I’m returning with more experience and the backing of kcac. this experience is one you don’t want to miss.

with "Reflections," I invite you to look beyond the surface. This series of mirrors is not just about the act of seeing, but about the deeper process of self-exploration and transformation. Mirrors have always served as tools for reflection—both literally and metaphorically. We stand before them, seeking clarity, reassurance, or simply an image that aligns with our expectations. But what happens when that image is fractured? When the smooth surface that we've come to rely on for a true likeness is disrupted?

When a mirror breaks, we often see it as a symbol of misfortune or something that has lost its value. But in this body of work, I reinterpret broken mirrors as symbols of transformation. The cracks and fractures become pathways to new understandings, each shard reflecting a different facet of the self. They invite you to piece together your own reflections, to find beauty in the brokenness, and to see beyond the immediate image.

"Reflections" is a journey into the multiplicity of self, where every angle reveals something new, and every break opens the door to growth. It's an exploration of how we see ourselves and how we can choose to view the fragments of our identities not as flaws, but as opportunities for transformation.

See you September 6th, Kansas city.
